Welcome to the
FLS - Friends of Linchfield School

The Friends of Linchfield School (FLS) is the name for our Parent Teacher Association.  We are a group of parents, carers, grandparents and staff who give their time freely to raise funds to support our school.

The FLS organise a number of events throughout the year such as discos, film nights, gift shops for Mother's Day and Father's Day, second hand uniform shops, summer fun days and Christmas fayres.  These events help us meet our aims to enhance the school experience for the children, support the staff and to strengthen the feeling of community within the school.

Meetings are held once a month to finalise details for our events and to decide how the funds are spent.  In the last year we have

  • invested in maths and literacy resources
  • bought athletics and netball kits
  • purchased new football goals
  • replaced the playground sets so each child had something to play with
  • improved the playgrounds with the installation of musical instruments, a ball chute, a traverse wall and bendy mirrors
  • treated Year 6 children to a day at Alton Towers in recognition of their achievements as they prepared to leave us for secondary school

The Committee members are:

Chair: Chris Mizen

Vice Chair: Sue Shaw

Treasurer: Lucy Mason

Secretary: Caroline Day

The FLS is a great opportunity to support our school, have fun and meet other parents and carers.  We always welcome new members and new ideas.  If you would like to become involved please contact us via the school office.  You can give as much time as you feel able.

We have a playground noticeboards to advertise our upcoming events and latest news which will also be published on the school website and in the school newsletters.

Please do get in touch if you can help in any way, if you have a suggestion or feedback or if you would like to know more about what we do.
