Inspire+ Mini Olympics
On Thursday 23rd June 2016, 30 year 3/4 children and our 8 bronze young ambassadors went to the Inspire+ Mini Olympics at Grantham Meres Stadium. They took part in the opening ceremony then the children were given the opportunity to try Olympic and Paralympic sports including, wheelchair skills, golf, freestyle football skills and badminton. The children embraced this opportunity with enthusiasm and were a credit to our school. They even got the chance to meet Sam Ruddock (Paralympian) and Elizabeth Cann (badminton) and get their autographs. During the ceremony, all 1175 children and staff took part in a spectacular mass dance.
Tri Golf Tournament
On Wednesday 18th May the whole school (children and adults) took part in a Tri Golf Competition against all the other Inspire+ schools. It was a lot of fun! We're waiting to see if we have the highest average score.
On Tuesday 3rd May four Y4 children went to Deeping Tennis Club to play a tournament against Langtoft, Bourne Abbey and Bourne Westfield. The children played brilliantly, Mrs Ladley, the organiser, remarked at how good their rallies were! After winning all but one of our our first matches in our group we got through to the semi-final, the tension built as we heard the result and we were delighted to hear we'd made the final against Bourne Abbey! Sadly, we didn't win, but it was truly wonderful to come home with a medal for second place when we had the least number of children representing our school. Well done Linchfield, you were great!
