Roots to Food, an independent specialist company delivering healthy eating and nutrition workshops visited the school on Wednesday 3rd February. Hosted by Darren Tinkler, the children participated in a questions and answers session on health and well-being and also took part in a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ activity. The orange kitchen led by Mr Hasler narrowly beat the green kitchen led by Mr Gombault with their winning dish of pan fried chicken, tomato & pesto.
In the afternoon, a workshop for our younger children involved interactive fitness and a discussion about healthy eating and how it helps us to grow, provide energy and keep our bodies healthy. The children made smoothies.
The day ended with a parents ‘interactive’ hands on workshop demonstrating cooking on a budget, nutrition and cooking techniques.
